Just a few steps away from the old town of Montreux, you will find a wild natural landscape with a wonderful gorge – Gorges du Chauderon. Here you can follow the rushing Baye de Montreux stream and marvel at the deep-sided gorge which becomes ever grander as you head up to Les Avants.
The signposted "Sentier des Narcisses" trail offers fabulous views of the Alps and Lake Geneva. In May, you can experience a special highlight when the path and meadows are carpeted with "May snow": narcissi in bloom, which fill the air with their captivating scent in a rare natural spectacle and transform the path into a sea of white flowers.

A ride on the cog railway up to Rochers-de-Naye takes you from the shores of Lake Geneva up into the mountains. Along the route you will pass picturesque winegrowing villages every so often and can marvel at the Lavaux vineyards. The rows of terraces are so unique that they were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.
